THREE girls from Bridlington used their summer holidays to raise money for the Bridlington RNLI by taking on the Humberside Police Lifestyle challenge.

Chloe Webber, Jessica Webber and Eleanor Thornton, who are all 11, spent the holidays coming up with ingenous fund-raising ideas and collected a total of £232.27 – which they presented to Bridlington’s lifeboat crew last week.

Jean Baker, Lifestyle team’s adult advisor, said: “The girls have been busy collecting and recycling old cans by cleaning them and painting various designs on them.

“They have also baked cakes, walked dogs and helped with jobs in gardens to raise the money.”

The girls presented Stuart McKie, the lifeboat’s coxswain and mechanic, and the crew with a cheque, along with a recycled tin featuring the RNLI flag.
