A MEMBER of Bridlington’s Lifeboat crew won a tidy sum on a live episode of quiz show Deal Or No Deal last week.

Chris Brompton appeared on a live version of the popular Channel 4 show last Wednesday, with friends, family and other members of the lifeboat crew gathered at the lifeboat station in South Marine Drive ready to cheer him on.

Host Noel Edmonds visited the station the week before, hiding in the lifeboat and surprising Chris with the news he would be appearing on the show the following week.

Starting the game with box 14 – and with flashes to everyone back in Bridlington lifeboat station cheering him on – Chris declined early offers of £7,700 and £9,200.

The excitement on the show built when Chris declined £11,000 but when he was offered £20,000 Chris was asked the question by host Noel Edmonds – “Deal or no deal?” – and Chris decided to take the money.

As the game continued, Chris was left with only 10p and £100,000 in the final round.

After some banter with the show’s Banker, when Chris opened his box it revealed he had £100,000 all along.
