MORE than 6,000 people have already voted for how often they want their green, blue and brown bins collected.
And two-thirds of those have said they support East Riding of Yorkshire Council's preferred choice – to keep a weekly green bin service.

It also means blue bin collections would be increased to once a fortnight and everyone would get brown bins f
or garden waste.

These would be emptied fortnightly in summer and monthly in winter.

Coun Symon Fraser, portfolio holder for the environment, said: "If you haven't yet taken part there is still time and we want to hear from you.

"The management of waste is one of the biggest issues facing us and every authority in the UK."

The closing date for replies is July 31 and votes can be made at www.eastriding.gov.uk /consult

There are four options to consider.
