ANNUAL beach combs around the shores of the Bridlington area are set to raise awareness of marine conservation.
Staff from The Deep in Hull will lead the hunt for shark and ray egg cases in an effort to involve the public in vital research to help shark conservation.

The Shark Trust will use the results of the beach combs, to be held throughout August, to identify critical areas and propose conservation measures to reverse the decline of the animals.

The beach combs are designed for all the family and will feature beach games and quizzes and children will receive a certificate and goody bag.

All hunts start at 1pm, the first is today at Cayton Bay. Other events include:

l Tomorrow – meet at South Landing, Flamborough, near the Boathouse Cafe car park.

l Thursday August 21 – meet at the beach car park at Fraisthorpe beach.
