AN auction of a slightly different kind helped one Bridlington pub raise £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The New Inn, in Prince Street, held a bidding war for the men in the pub, which attracted the terrific amount for the charity.

Landlord Kevin Rolls said they were delighted with the amount raised and added the decision to give the money to Macmillan came from the fantastic support they gave to his mother and to landlady Mary Geraghty's sister, who both suffered from the disease.

He said: "It is an excellent cause and is one that we will be supporting from now on.

"We are going to do another event at Christmas and I'd just like to thank all the locals and the businesses who got involved."
