A HOSPITAL ward which was shut last month because of a lack of staff will reopen on Monday.
The 28-bed Kent Ward was forced to close because off illness and vacant posts.

But a spokesman for Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “We are pleased sickness levels have now improved and we have also managed to recruit new staff.

“Whilst these are not yet in place, by working with other wards we are now in a position to reopen.”

Meanwhile, the cardiac monitoring unit will be closing this weekend for a deep clean. Patients will be moved to other wards in Bridlington until it reopens on Monday.
