He sprayed his tag in more than 30 places all over town, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Last week, Spok's identity was uncovered and he was nabbed by police, who were acting on information from the public.

The 19-year-old local man, who also used the tag Pest, admitted being responsible for 36 incidents of graffiti and was given a police caution.

Now, the case has been passed on to East Riding of Yorkshire Council, which is looking at additional punishment options.

PC Jason Scotter from Bridlington's Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "We had an idea of who he was but last week, with the help of the CCTV, community wardens and the PCSOs we managed to track him down.

"The amount of damage he has caused to local businesses has run into thousands of pounds in cleaning costs.

"We thank the community wardens for their help in cleaning up and Richard Bastiman and other PCSOs for their hard work in identifying him as a possible suspect in the first place.

"The problem was getting out of hand but when we spoke to him, to his credit, he admitted it all and took us round all the locations.

"We knew many of them but he came forward with additional ones, which eventually will be cleaned up."

Spok's graffiti was found in West Hill, Wellington Road, South Cliff and Oliver's Lane, among other places.

And PC Scotter warned other graffiti vandals that police are on their tail.

He said: "This is the third person dealt with in relation to large quantities of graffiti, firstly in Bempton and Bridlington's South side, and now in the town centre.

"There are a couple more we are aware of, where we know who they are and we will be going to speak to them.

"They should practice in their own properties, on their own garden walls and fences, or they are looking at criminal damage and prosecution."
