A film crew making a comedy drama spent a week in the town shooting scenes for Hammerhead, the story of a shark-obsessed boy trying to reunite his estranged parents.
Locations included the North Promenade and a house in Westridge Road and the crew said they were delighted with the resort as a setting.
It should be finished by the autumn and will be sent to festivals at home and abroad.
