THE definition of a good present is something that the recipient would dearly love, but never think of buying themselves.
Unless your nearest and dearest live in a cave, there's a good chance that you'll be able to treat them to something gorgeous for their home.
Does he love pottering about in the kitchen? Does she love luxuriating in the bathroom? Is their living room crying out for some funky cushions or a fabulous lamp? There's a whole world of fantastic gifts out there.
Think carefully about their taste and style and you're bound to come up with something they'll adore.
A good rule of thumb for befuddled male shoppers – never buy your beloved something that plugs in unless it's a fancy hair gadget or something she's requested. Vaccuum cleaners, irons and kettles are necessary tools, not gifts.
