THE net is closing in on a man who dumps litter outside Bridlington's main shopping precinct every day.
Staff at the Promenades centre say they are fed up of having to get the "filthy rubbish" cleaned up.

CCTV footage of the culprit has been passed to the town's police and centre managers believe they know the identity of the vandal.

Centre manager Michael Fearn said: "It's the work of one individual who collects the most disgusting rubbish from private dustbins – including toilet waste – and deliberately dumps it."

"We must get this man stopped before we have the spread of infection or rats.

"I am at my wit's end trying to get this sorted out.

"Apart from the community wardens, nobody seems interested in helping.

"What else can we do before someone becomes ill?"

Calls are being made to East Riding of Yorkshire Council's environmental services department on almost a daily basis to try to get the mess cleared.

But Mr Fearn is worried that if the dumping continues, it could lead to serious problems.

He said: "The community wardens are brilliant.

"They recognise the potential for the spread of infection and vermin, particularly so close to such a busy centre, and clear it up.

"With the warmer summer weather and the holidaymakers visiting the centre, it is the most appalling advertisement for Bridlington."
