A TEENAGE rapist from Bridlington has been sent to a young offenders' institute for eight years after being caught by his own DNA.
James Arthur Pearce Dixon, 19, initially told police he had never met his victim, then confessed later to meeting her in a pub.

Last Wednesday, he began his sentence after pleading guilty to raping the woman.

Hull Crown Court heard he had raped her against her will, causing her to flee partially-clothed and covered in blood.

The victim, who cannot be identified, was out with friends when she spoke to Dixon in a pub.

Crown barrister Simon Waley told Hull Crown Court that Dixon later attacked his victim near his house.

He punched her twice in the face before ripping off her clothing and then raping her.

She was covered in blood and had injuries to her face, throat and neck.

She ran to a house nearby and appeared visibly upset.

DNA evidence was found on his victim which linked Dixon to the crime.

When he was initially arrested he protested his innocence.

It was only later that Dixon, of Baptist Place, Bridlington, pleaded guilty to a single charge of rape.

He was appearing at court last Wednesday to be sentenced.

Passing sentence Judge Roger Thorn, QC, told Dixon that he should serve six years and also be subject to a two-year extended sentence, making a total of eight years.

He will be in a young offenders' institution until he is 21 and will finish his sentence in prison.
