A BOY of 10 has been arrested following a number of thefts of purses and wallets in Bridlington.
Detectives want to hear from anyone who thinks they lost their purse or wallet in the town centre on Tuesday.

It is alleged that the boy, along with an adult man and woman, sneakily took items from shoppers' pockets and bags of shoppers without them knowing.

The child was arrested by police and it is known that at least three offences were committed.

However officers believe other people may also have had their property stolen but the incidents have not been reported because the victims may have assumed they have mislaid the items rather than had them stolen.

The two adults believed to have been involved in the incidents have not yet been identified by police.

As part of their investigation, police have recovered CCTV footage from Boyes of a woman they wish to speak to in connection with the thefts.

Anyone who recognises the woman, or who lost their wallet or purse whilst in Bridlington town centre on Tuesday, should contact Humberside Police on 0845 60 60 222.
