A YOB who admitted a string of offences has been given Bridlington's longest-running ASBO.
David Robert Griffiths' five-year order was imposed by the town's magistrates and has been welcomed by police.
Offences the 24-year-old pleaded guilty to included assault, being drunk and disorderly, using threatening behaviour and damaging a brick wall at a residential home.
He was given a two-year conditional discharge as punishment as well as the lengthy ASBO.
Insp Steve Jackson, head of Bridlington police, said: "Griffiths has been given a clear message by the court that his behaviour, much of which has been alcohol-related, will not be tolerated.
"Should he continue with his previous behaviour, he will be put back before the court for breaching his ASBO and is likely to have penalties imposed, which have in the past included imprisonment."
Posters with Griffiths' photo and details of his ASBO will now be put up around the town in a bid to keep him in check.
Insp Jackson added: "It is important the public are aware of those in their community responsible for anti-social behaviour and are subject of ASBOs, and that they are encouraged to report any breaches of the order to the police.
"Over the past two years a number of ASBOs have been issued to some of the most prolific individuals responsible for anti-social behaviour in the town.
"They have proven to be one of the most effective ways of dealing with people, most of whom change their behaviour for the better having received one."
Griffiths, of New Burlington Road, Bridlington, could be fined £5,000 or sent to jail if he breaches the terms of his order.
It states he is banned from behaving in a way likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress and remaining on private land in Bridlington or in any building when asked to leave by the owner. He cannot drink alcohol in public places, except pubs and bars, or be found drunk and disorderly in public.
