Pupils hit big screen
A Bridlington School student learns about filiming
STUDENTS at Bridlington School swapped the classroom for a film studio to produce a movie about their life.
The school is involved in a ‘Connecting Classrooms’ project which brings together students from across the East Riding.
Five schools - Bridlington, Hornsea, Wolfreton, Longcroft and Market Weighton - are involved in the project which sees each of these schools matched with a cluster of their counterparts in the Argentinean capital, Buenos Aires.
In previous months students from Years 7, 8 and 9 have exchanged postcards and calendars but this academic year the focus is on filming. Students have been filming their daily life at home and school to share with students in Argentina via a blog.
Eight keen camera men and women recently travelled to York to shoot footage for a film entitled ‘My Region’ and they were lucky enough to share filming with students from other schools as well as with students from Hull University.
During their day visit to Hull students had the opportunity to use professional camera equipment to film a visit to Yorvik, the Yorkshire Museum and the Minster.
