An 18-month fundraising campaign by Bridlington Conservative Club has raised £3,000 for Help for Heroes.
Over the last year and a half the club has put on a number of charity activities including tombolas, quiz nights, cake stalls and toy stalls.
Club manager, Wendy Morley, said: “We are very pleased with the amount raised and I would like to thank everybody who contributed.”
The Conservative Club has previously fundraised for blind charities and Macmillan Nurses, but with a number of veterans among their ranks, they chose to help wounded servicemen this time around.
Wendy said: “My husband served for 23 years in the forces and my son Danny has served in Iraq and Bosnia. This is our way of supporting the great work the armed forces do.”
