Footage of life on show
ARCHIVE footage of East Yorkshire life will be shown at Ulrome Village Hall on Tuesday February 9 from 7pm.
Yorkshire was the birthplace of moving image back in 1888, and the Yorkshire Film Archive is a treasure trove of film made in, or about Yorkshire – its job is to find, preserve and share our region’s moving image heritage.
Ellen Thorpe, co-ordinator of East Riding Council’s touring arts scheme ArtERY responsible for bringing the presentation to Ulrome, said: “Showing film from the Yorkshire Film Archive has proved extremely popular so far.
“Last year, in some village halls it was standing room only so we advise people to book in advance to guarantee a seat.
“Audiences will recognise many of the places featured in the film show, as we’ve asked the Archive to include lots of material from the East Riding.
“So whether it’s egg gathering at Bempton cliffs, farming on the Wolds, ship building in Beverley or family holidays at Bridlington – you’ll see many familiar places, and maybe even faces!”

Light refreshments will be available.
