Bikers get Snappy for charity
IT'S nearing that time of year again when the Kilham Bikers don their leathers, stock up on Easter eggs and invite all motorcyclists to join in their annual charity ride-out.
This year the bikers are going back to their roots and will be departing from their original meeting point, The Bay Horse, Kilham, at 11am on Easter Sunday, April 4, to ride to Snappy, a childrens’ charity in York.
The bikers will be gathering at The Bay Horse from 9am where bacon sandwiches will be served throughout the morning.
This is the second year that Snappy will benefit from the Bikers’ generosity following a successful fundraising effort last year which raised 4,000 for the charity’s Summer Play Scheme.
After the Easter egg run to Snappy’s base in Lowther Street, there will be a fundraising evening held at The Bay Horse from 7.30pm with a charity auction and raffle and all are invited to take part.
The Kilham Bikers are now in their 14th year of helping children and young people with life threatening illnesses and disabilities and have raised in excess of 42,000 for various charities.
All are welcome to join in the ride-out, which in the past has attracted over 100 bikers from across the region, and if anybody would like to help the Bikers’ fundraising by donating Easter eggs or money, contact Fran Cowton on 420399.
