THE article on the proposed closure of Bridlington tax office gave an overall picture of the affect it will have on jobs but I thought your reporter could have emphasised the impact it will have on the local business community and the population as well.
The loss of 42 jobs will have an impact on the economy of the town and will be the loss of another service after the closure of post offices and the running down of services at the hospital – these have long-term effects on the infrastructure of a community.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is trying to encourage new businesses and employment for the town, which is dying as each year passes, and blows like this do not help.
