Here is an interesting local farce.
I have noticed that we here in Harland Road reguarly receive the attentions of the council roadsweeper on a Sunday morning.

This is the best day of the week to have everyone, and their cars, at home.

The gentleman drives his sweeper with great
care up and down the road, being extremely careful not to touch any of our vehicles, thereby missing at least 50% of the gutters.

We now have a very clean centre to our road.

On Monday morning I saw the roadsweeper heading southward in Kingsgate, doing a very thorough job at a nice slow speed, in the morning rush hour.

This did nothing to aid the flow of traffic at that time of day.

Is it me?

Janet Howe, via e-mail,
Harland Road,
Bridlington.
