GETTING towards the end of the season, Bridlington entertained the well experienced side, Altrincham.

Brid put Altrincham on the back foot in the first few minutes as Billy Gibson scored the first try for Brid by side-stepping his way towards the try line. It was not long though, before Altrincham replied by sucking in Brid’s defence, making gaps for Altrincham to score.

Brid however kept their heads up by scoring two more tries before the final whistle with one try for Reece Nester with help by Zak Howath, and another for Billy Gibson.

THE next game was a chance for the young under 7s of Brid to show Altrincham how well they could play.

Altrincham were quick out of the blocks every time and as they passed the ball around they ripped Brid’s defence apart to make their way to the try line on more than a few occasions.

Brid held their heads up and by good teamwork, and support by Emily Dixon helped Robbie Wainwright to get over the try line on three occasions. In the second half Brid stepped up a gear and managed to push Altrincham back to their own line. A mistake by Altrincham made it a Brid ball with a quick ball to Sophia Topham who confused the defence, side-stepped her way to the line.

The final try for Brid came from new player Ruby who ran nearly half the pitch to score.

TIRED legs were now starting to take their toll as players were playing back to back matches.

Brid were lacking in defence and struggled to keep up with the game as there was nowhere to hide Brid persevered and managed to get to the try line with excellent running down the blind side by winger Matthew Temple to score.

The last two tries for Brid came from Billy Gibson who on both occasions jinked his way to the try line fooling the opposition.

THE last game came a lot easier for Brid as the Altrincham ref gave Brid the advantages they needed to score.

The first try for Brid came from Billy Gibson with good support by under 7s player Ethan Moorhouse and Jack Marshall.

The second try for Brid came from winger Matthew Temple who found gaps in Altrincham defence to get over the try line. Good running by Matthew Thomas gained ground for Brid and made a try for Billy Gibson in the corner just before full time.

Well done to all players as it was one of the hardest matches this season.

Man of the match chosen by Altrincham went to Sophia Topham.

Many thanks to our main sponsors Lloyd Dowsons and Tophams/Transtools.

Bridlington U140

Doncaster U1414

On a chilly Sunday morning Doncaster under 14s travelled across to Dukes Park to play Bridlington under 14s.

Due to illness and injury Bridlington were under strength. However, Doncaster sportingly lent the home side two of their players so Bridlington could field the full 15.
