Rangers U11 16
Hunmanby U11 0

EAGLES created many early chances from one of which Vincent opened the scoring. Hunmanby defenders were working hard and keeping the score down but an unfortunate hand ball gave Stockdale the penalty to double the score. A long shot from Huntley and a skilfully placed Pearson shot made it 4 - 0 at the break.
Shortly after the restart Faulkner had scored a quick hat-trick. Huntley scored after a Pearson shot was parried, then Pearson and Stockdale hit home powerful shots, Kenney put in Robinson then scored himself, captain Kaye chose his spot. Another so
lo effort from Stockdale, Pearson completed his hat-trick and finally Faulkner completed the scoring. Taylor-Hayes even came close to scoring in his spell out of goal. Thanks to Darren Sockdale for refereeing.
Man of the match: Ross Pearson.

Hunmanby U8 0
Rangers Dragons U8 0

THE goalless score-line does not reflect how entertaining this match actually was.
During the first half Hunmanby had most chances with great midfield work from William Bradley, John Storey and Ryan Clark and striker Alex Crawford had several good efforts.
During the second half Rangers who had the assistance of the wind, and Hunmanby were made to work. William Baines put in a faultless display in goal to keep yet another clean sheet. Hunmanby duo Harvey Smart and Craig Ward were dominant in defence.
Player of the match: Harvey Smart

Hunmanby U8 2
Rangers Dragons U8 3

THE second friendly match gave both managers chance to change the squad around and try different formations. The match looked as though it was going to be a repeat of the first until Rangers scored the first goal but Hunmanby soon equalised through Harvey Smart.
The second half saw Rangers take the lead and then be awarded a penalty but Hunmanby keeper Bradley made an incredible save. This motivated Hunmanby who levelled again courtesy of another Smart strike. Rangers then scored the winner but both sides should be proud after a truly entertaining game.

Burl'n Jackdaws U7 4
Middleton U7 0

A BRACE of goals from Louis Miller helped Burlington Jackdaws to an impressive victory over Middleton.
Jackdaws got a third when Hill's strike was deflected into Callum Cobden's path before Tommy McEwen finished the scoring with a well placed shot.
The visitors started positively but strong tackling from Ashley Melles and Lloyd Brodie meant they never really tested out Jackdaws keeper. and good positional play from Hill at the back meant any possible attacks were stopped and he distributed the ball intelligently to the wide men. A great team performance., well done!
Adam's Jackdaw of the match: Ashley Melles.

Filey U11 1
Flamboro' Tigers U11 4

TIGERS travelled to Filey and for the first half of the match allowed Filey to dominate much of the game. Score at half-time 1-1 with Tigers owing much to Knapton and Jenkinson in defence keeping Filey's score down.
In the second half Tigers showed improvement coming out 4-1 winners. Scorers for Tigers were Wood, Hall and Saywell (two).
Tigers team: Hague, Knapton, Jenkinson, Woodhouse, Hall, Mills, Traves, Jones, Mattinson, Wood, Hayles, Saywell.
Men of match for Tigers: Liam Knapton and Mathew Saywell.

Driffield U11 0
Rangers Warriors U11 3

DRIFFIELD played host to Warriors and it produced another close game with Warriors playing probably their best of the season.
Warriors took the lead when a flick on by Thorne was bundled in by Green. Driffield were unlucky not to level when they hit the post just before half-time.
The second half was as good as the first with end to end football, it was Warriors who got the killer second goal when a Johnson corner was met with a thumping header by Coombes. Driffield kept coming forward but found keeper Campleman and the defence of Boyes, Scales, Coombes in great form. Warriors made some chances with Brignall, Cockerill coming on. Warriors got a third when good play by Marsh and Wollerton gave Thorne chance to score. Well played both teams a credit to junior football.
Andy Green manager comment. Great game everyone, best yet.
Man of the match: Harry Coombes.
Warriors are sponsored by Campy's Driving School.

Rangers Cheetahs U9 2
Filey Boys and Girls 0

Both managers agreed to some changes for this game. Bridlington Rangers Cheetahs' players Callum Battams and Harvey Slater started for Filey Boys and Girls to make the contest more interesting, and it worked.
Their ability and effort was very good and they made some good chances for themselves and some of the other Filey players.
For Rangers, Alex Groom, in goal played very well and made some very good saves. In defence, Jamie Thompson and Joshua Eastwood worked very hard to keep out Filey. Callum 'Dan' Berrigan worked hard in midfield, made some good tackles and passed well at times. Nat Watson also worked hard again passing the ball about well. Warren Midgely again tried hard. Connor Collinson continued to be a threat in attack. Blake Cobden showed some good touches and tried hard too. The game was a lot more even than the first, and the score at half-time was nil-nil.
In the second half, Battams and Slater returned to Rangers, and Eastwood and Thompson went in defence for Filey. Collinson dropped back into defence with Berrigan and Midgely, and they worked hard to keep Filey out. Battams and Slater were again a constant threat, and each scored with good efforts. Watson did well in attack, and was unlucky to score with a couple of good efforts being blocked by Filey defenders. A close, exciting game finished up two-nil to Rangers.
Manager's comment: "Again we played some good football at times, and it's good to see players playing with confidence and working hard for each other."
Man of the match: Callum Battams, Harvey Slater, Joshua Eastwood and Jamie Thompson for their sportsmanship by trying their best for Filey, as well as for their efforts for Rangers. It was good of you to help them out and put in a big effort. Thanks guys.

Rangers Cheetahs U9 9
Filey Boys and Girls 1

Bridlington Rangers Cheetahs started confidently and were soon on the attack.
Harvey Slater again performed well in midfield as did Callum Battams. Connor Collinson did some good work in attack and scored a good goal. Blake Cobden showed flashes of brilliance on the right of midfield. In defence Joshua Eastwood and Jamie Thompson were again solid and strong and also passed the ball well. Callum 'Dan' Berrigan did what he had to do well in goal.
The passing and movement of Rangers was very good at times, which led to good chances. Slater opened the scoring with a great shot. As well as some amazing runs down the wing and creating some good chances with some well-placed passes and crosses, he scored two more goals to complete his hat-trick.
Callum Battams played well in midfield, and also scored a hat-trick, one goal being a sensational flying volley after some good team-work. Battams passing was also of a good standard, giving opportunities to his team-mates.
In the second half, Nat Watson came on in midfield and passed the ball well, and showed good skills when he went on a mazy run, beating two defenders and then delivering a dangerous cross into the box. Alex Groom played in attack and scored two well taken goals. Filey kept trying and Warren Midgely, who volunteered to play for Filey to help them out worked hard for them.
Filey's efforts earned them a consolation goal when a high ball was met by their forward who ran onto it and struck it beautifully, giving Berrigan no chance.
It was another very good team performance by Rangers and the quality of play was very good to see.
Manager's comment: "It's good to see the good teamwork continuing. Everyone is trying hard, working for each other, showing good skills, all of which adds up to good team performances."
Man of the match: Everyone played very well, but the man of the match goes to Warren Midgely for exceptional sportsmanship. He was the only player to volunteer to play for Filey to help them out. Well done Warren.
