A 20-year-old woman from Mappleton suffered bruising to the neck and back after she fell from her scooter in Cliff Road, Hornsea.
The woman was riding a 125cc scooter towards Newbegin when a car parked outside Butterworth's Fish and Chip shop allegedly pulled away from the kerb just as the scooter was going past.

The scooter rider took avoiding action and no collision occurred, however the woman fell from the machine and sustained injuries that required treatment at Hull Royal Infirmary.

The driver of the car did not stop at the scene and there are no details of the vehicle involved.

The incident happened at 6.30pm yesterday.

Police would like to speak to the driver of the car as well as any other witnesses in the area at the time.

A spokesman said: "There may have been people at the fish and chip shop who saw what happened and police are keen to speak to them."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Humberside Police on 0845 6060222.
