AN APPEAL to recruit retained firefighters in Hornsea has had a disappointing response.
The brigade sent out an SOS for extra volunteers at a number of stations which were struggling for crew.

And while most other bases have seen plenty of people coming forward, Hornsea has not yet had any suitable applicants.

Hornsea's Watch Manager Mick Bateman says; "We would desperately like to bring our crewing up to full strength and we ask people to come and meet the crew, look around the station and fire engines and see if it's for you."

Hornsea Fire Station training night is Thursday. If there is anyone interested, they can call in at the station during their training evenings

Anyone applying must live within five minutes travel distance of their local station.
