The July Medal took place in miserable conditions on Sunday July 6. With quite a few players walking in soaked the few that braved the rain stood good chances of winning.
Div 1 was once again taken by the Links most prolific winner Matt Whitehead with a very solid nett 72. Second on 75 nett was Ben Comerford who had three gross birdies in a row from the 5th.
Div 2 had the day’s best score from Rob Hudson who, playing off 19 handicap finished on nett 66. Rob managed five gross pars and two gross birdies in a fantastic round. Second place went to inform Dan Moore who continued his run with a sound nett 68.
Div 3 had playing partners Andy C Smith and Andy Goodlad both shooting nett 71s with Smith taking first place on a count back.
Twos winners included; B Comerford, N Belt, R Hudson, D Moore, N Potter (2), M Strathearn and A Sweeting.
This Sunday is Invitation Day with members and guests playing better ball stableford. Halfway house, nearest pins, longest drive, straightest drive with prizes after play in the bar! If you are not already down ring Steve now.

FLAMBOROUGH Head Golf Club held its fifth annual Firm Am Golf Day last Friday, renamed in memory of our great friend Glenn McHale, who in his Captain’s year of 2004 resurrected this competition.
Thirty four teams from all over Yorkshire took part and our thanks go to all the players for once again supporting this great competition. The green keepers Steve Harper and Robert Macabe presented the course in fantastic condition and coupled with the glorious sunshine everybody could not help but have enjoyed the day.
The golfers started the day off with coffee and a bacon bap.
Mary and Denise on the desk and Alan Porter acting as starter kept everybody on time starting at 9.50am through to 3pm, the lads were rewarded at the halfway house with refreshments served by Phyl, Nicki and Karen.
After the golf they were treated to a two course meal served by Julia and the reliable staff of Jean, Hannah, Lisa, Kelly and Jon, and then the traditional pint, pulled by Ronnie and Alf.
The evening was hosted by Bridlington's Mike Hammond (who has been on television). Club Captain Reg Lilly welcomed everybody and the prizes were presented by Nicki McHale and the committee of Arthur Woodhouse, Alan Waites, George Sunley, Derrek Hill and Allan King.
Nicki McHale was presented with a bouquet of flowers
The winning team was Capital Pallets comprised of P Gibson, G Gibson, G Hodgson and D Mason. Mr Gibson thanked everybody especially the Firm Am Committee.
