THE 1st Bridlington Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts had a brilliant day out to Fort Paull on Saturday, June 14.
To their amazement, they found themselves surrounded by a complete regiment of Lt Col John Lilburne's foot soldiers from the English Civil war.

It wasn't the feet that were so amazing – it was the muskets, cannons, swords, flags, and armour. The soldiers were very friendly.

They showed the scouts how to fire a musket and a cannon with real gunpowder.

The scouts had already had a good day before they found the rebels in the grounds of Fort Paull.
