The winners of the RSPCA pets photo competition are Madame Bon Bon, Rocket & Billy the cats, Buster, Ted, Bonnie & Ben, Benji & Oscar and Flynn & Zac the dogs, Bubbles & Nemo the fish, Ginger & Scamper the guinea pigs, and Daisy, Poppy & Penny the rabbits.
Judges Ray and Christine Allerston had an impossible job of picking just 12 photographs out of 328 entries but we hope everyone who did not get a place this year will try again next time when in 2010 the judge will be Free Press editor Nick Procter.

All the pets entered will feature in the Free Press in the near future when readers can vote to choose the overall favourite three from the winners and the best three of the other entries.

All six winners will receive pet hampers and their pet pictures will be signed by TV and music industry celebrity Simon Cowell, who is honorary president of the Bridlington branch of the RSPCA.

As a follow-on from our rabbit welfare event, local veterinary practices have agreed to microchip rabbits for just £5 until the end of April so we hope local rabbit owners will take advantage of this offer. Just ring your practice to make an appointment.

Our fund-raisers will be in the Promenades Shopping Centre on Saturday and at the Ship Inn car park in Sewerby (the cliff-tops end) on Sunday for our Wet Nose Day Sponsored Walk.
