THE north west branch's 44th annual reunion on Saturday, May 10 was at the Belsfield Hotel in Bowness in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Windermere in the Lake District.
With some of the finest views of the lake, Old Bridlingtonians and their partners enjoyed a splendid luncheon.
Those present included club president John Hilditch, president elect Roddy Watson, past presidents Deryck Davison, John Blythe, Malcolm Wilson, Peter Hardy, Alan Dutton, Mike Mortimore and John Wresdell.
The reunion was once again delighted to hear of the very encouraging moves forward at the school since headteacher John Wilson took control, confirming his excellence in leadership and direction.
Our president John Hilditch in his address to the reunion, confirmed the club is very healthy and membership is still on the increase. Stuart Blackwell was inducted as our branch chairman for 2008/9 and past president and master Deryck Davison is the branch chairman elect for 2009/10.
A boat trip on the lake provided a fitting end to the celebrations.
The next branch reunion is in Cambridge on Saturday, June 21. Details can be obtained from the branch secretary, Tim Kench on 01494 864153.
Any past pupils young and old who attended the school and who wish to join the Old Bridlingtonian Club and keep in touch with old school friends far and wide can contact John Wresdell on 01377 254441, or visit the club website for more details at www.oldbridlingtoniansclub.org.net.
